This Privacy Notice applies to Customers and Trusted Contact Persons of Z Credit Philippines, Inc. (“Z Credit Philippines”).

We will honor your request unless there are legal or treatment-based reasons to disclose your data. We reserve the right to accept or deny other requests and will inform you of our decision.

1.2 Inspect and Copy Data – You can inspect and obtain copies of your personal data, with some limitations. Submit a written request indicating the information you wish to access, how you would like to receive it, and in which format. We will try to provide it in your preferred format or an agreed alternative. If we refuse your request due to specific legal grounds, you have the right to appeal the decision.

1.3 Confidential Communications – You may request to receive your personal data in a particular way or at a specific location. Submit your request in writing, specifying your preferences, and we will accommodate reasonable requests.

For Customers: 2.1 Payment – We may share your data with affiliates or partners for service payment purposes.

2.2 Payment Reminders – We may contact you or access publicly available contact information for payment reminders in the event of missed payments.

2.3 Research – Your personal information may be used for research, with protections for confidentiality. Analytics may generate anonymized reports for customer demographics and trends.

2.4 Marketing – We may use your contact information to share details on products or services related to your loan applications or services from Z Credit affiliates or business partners.

2.5 Legal Compliance – When legally required, we will limit data use and disclosure to relevant legal requirements, such as in cases of abuse reporting, judicial proceedings, or law enforcement requests.

2.6 Law Enforcement – We may disclose data to law enforcement as required by law for purposes such as locating individuals, complying with legal orders, or other lawful activities.

2.7 Other Uses – If Z Credit Philippines wishes to use your data for any purpose not covered here, we will seek your written consent.

For Trusted Contact Persons: We may contact you for additional information about a customer who listed you as a Trusted Contact Person if, for example, the customer cannot be reached.

3. Retention and Disposal of Data

3.1 Retention – Z Credit Philippines will retain your personal data for legitimate purposes, legal claims, business purposes, or other legal reasons.

3.2 Disposal – Personal data will be disposed of in a way that makes it unreadable (paper) or irretrievable (digital).

4. Updates to Privacy Notice
We may amend this Privacy Notice in the future. Any updated version will apply to all personal data we hold, regardless of when it was received. Copies of the current Privacy Notice will be available online and by request.

Z Credit Philippines, Inc. (“Z Credit”) values the privacy of its customers and users of its online platforms, including its mobile application. We are committed to integrating privacy measures into all our processes, in compliance with Republic Act No. 10173, the Data Privacy Act of 2012, its implementing rules, and National Privacy Commission guidelines.

We acknowledge the importance of protecting your personal information and being transparent in how we collect, use, store, transfer/disclose, and dispose of data from your interactions with our products, services, online platforms, and mobile applications.

Information Collection

Personally Identifiable Information (PII)
“Personally identifiable information” refers to data that uniquely identifies an individual, such as name, password, age, civil status, gender, mailing address, email, telephone and mobile numbers, income, employment details, financial information, credit data, photographs, and other personal details. Personal information and sensitive personal information as defined by the Data Privacy Act of 2012 are also considered PII.We collect PII when you apply for services, register an account on our platforms, and interact with us through the Z Credit mobile application, online portals, point-of-sale devices, or paper application forms.

Mobile App Permissions
The Z Credit mobile app may process various data to enhance your user experience, including mobile data usage, traffic volume, crash logs, diagnostics, and page interactions. With your consent, the Z Credit app may also access permissions such as email, messages, phone calls, calendar, contacts, files, app lists, accounts data, device, and location to help prevent fraud, improve security, and assess your eligibility for our products. Push notifications may also be sent regarding your account or app usage. You may manage these permissions through your device’s settings. Disabling app permissions after application submission may impact certain features or reduce app functionality.

Mobile Device Data
The mobile app gathers device data such as hardware model, operating system, and user profile information for security purposes, reducing fraud by identifying devices. We do not collect unique device identifiers like IMEI or serial numbers.

SMS Data
With consent, the Z Credit app collects and processes business SMS data to analyze your income and spending habits, aiding in credit evaluation and faster approval rates. This includes transactional SMS from entities like government agencies, banks, financial institutions, e-commerce sites, and utility companies. Personal or OTP messages are not accessed, and sensitive data in SMS content is masked.

Location Data
The app may access location data once to verify your address, suggest local services, and detect suspicious activities. Location data is not collected in the background, and you may disable this feature in your device’s settings. Third-party partners providing location data undergo strict data protection and regulatory compliance checks.

Third-party App Data
With your permission, Z Credit may collect contact information linked to your Facebook or Gmail accounts. External websites or companies linked from our platforms may collect your PII. Please refer to their privacy notices regarding their data practices.

Cookies and Similar Technologies
Z Credit’s websites and mobile apps may use cookies, small text files on your device that remember information about your visit to enhance your experience. Cookies do not track or store personal data. Data collected via cookies help us understand usage patterns and website traffic and do not directly identify individuals.

Use of Personally Identifiable Information
Accurate information helps us provide a smooth, customized experience. We use your PII to fulfill service agreements and may use it to:

Storage and Security of Personally Identifiable Information
Z Credit stores your PII securely. Measures include encryption and physical and technical controls to prevent unauthorized access. We recommend updating the Z Credit mobile app to benefit from the latest security features.

Retention of Personally Identifiable Information
Retention periods for PII vary based on operational, business, and legal requirements, such as:

  • Service delivery and business purposesLegal claims or compliance with retention laws (e.g., AMLA requires retention for 5 years, while certain tax records are retained for 10 years
  • When retention is no longer needed, we delete, anonymize, or securely store your PII, isolating it from further processing until deletion.

Disclosure and Transfers of Personally Identifiable Information
Z Credit shares PII as necessary for services consented to or signed up for, with partners such as government agencies, financial service providers, and fulfillment services. PII is disclosed for legal compliance or in the event of organizational changes with users’ consent. We may share anonymized, aggregated data with third parties.

Minors
Z Credit does not knowingly collect PII from individuals under 18. Parents may contact us to address any privacy concerns about their children’s online activity.

Data Subject Rights
Under the Data Privacy Act, you have rights such as access, rectification, erasure, and the right to file complaints.
